Artwork 1 Details :

My work is based on a technique called Needle-felting. It refers to a technique that completes the work by stabbing 100% organic merino wool with a dedicated needle. The unique and sophisticated delicacy of wool is added to express a different atmosphere from ordinary drawing works. I think this work is not just a result of imaging or reproduction but a challenge beyond the distinction between genres. I wanted to present a new concept of painting through the wool. Like a painting completed with a brush touch on a canvas, I wanted to show the unique rough characteristics of wool at the same time by expressing various textures using wool. While considering the topic of expressing various colors and expressing the feeling of this material, I chose the motif of "bird" that can explain the pictorial elements of "material." Unlike ordinary materials, the texture of wool can be felt through the touch, and the five senses can be stimulated to provide an emotional experience beyond the boundaries of visual art.

Breath of Nature

Artwork 2 Details :

While we live in nature, nature exists as the home of everyone's lives and artists' creations or motifs. Animals in nature are objects of absolute beauty beyond human ability, and they tried to transfer their movements and colors felt through nature to the artwork. What is breathing in the theme of the work, 'Breath of Nature'? It refers to vitality, and vitality is defined as being alive. In other words, feeling the breath on the paused screen can be interpreted as saying that the work is alive and breathing. Korean traditional natural dyeing is a dyeing technique designated by human cultural properties among various natural dyeing and is dyed only with natural materials without using chemical materials. When 'Niram' (Indio-colored pigment) is made using seashell ash, rice wine, and starch syrup to ferment 'Niram' just like wine. In this way, a work called 'Breath of Nature' expressed with materials obtained from nature becomes a work that embraces vitality. Through the object of Betta fish, the beauty of nature was expressed along with the color of nature obtained through the eco-friendly and Korean dyeing the warm texture of wool. The blue indigo, which looks like a drop of water, shows a strong visual contrast with the fish and conveys a dreamy and dynamic movement.
