Artwork from the series “SACRED SYMBOLS”. Being in Ukraine during the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Astian Rey, unable to continue working in his workshop, begins to experiment with digital art. As a result, a whole series of works called “Sacred Symbols” is being created. Each symbol consists of fragments of the artist's physical sculptures, taken from the photo archive of different periods of his artistic practice. Experimenting with collages and digital animation, Astian explores the origins of ancient religious and mystical cults. In order to understand who we are, it is necessary to study our past. And in most cases, the past comes to us in the form of mysterious symbols, the secrets of which we have to unravel.

Astian Rey is a traditional and digital artist from Ukraine whose work is known for its deep mystical and philosophical meaning. The artist is the founder of his own style - "Sacred Minimalism". In many works there are symbols taken from alchemy, Kabbalah and sacred geometry. Most of the artist's works are inspired by medieval religious art, manuscripts, as well as ritual objects in which there is a lot of gold. Astian believes that the viewer must first of all endow this or that work with a divine or demonic meaning, because only by recognizing the duality of the surrounding world can one comprehend the truth that lies on the verge of these two concepts.Social:
